We took a truly special trip to Oʻahu—three generations traveling together, with Grandma joining the boys for an unforgettable Hawaiian getaway. It was more than just a vacation; it was about making memories that would last a lifetime.

We stayed at the iconic Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikīkī, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The lush tropical grounds, pools, beachfront access, and on-site dining made it a relaxing base for our daily adventures. One of the highlights was the resort’s own luau—a vibrant evening of music, hula, and delicious food that brought island culture to life right on the property.

From there, we explored the island with ease in our rental car, giving us the flexibility to take in Oʻahu at our own pace.

A visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center gave us all a deeper appreciation for the many cultures that make up Polynesia. The boys loved the interactive activities, and Grandma was fascinated by the performances and storytelling.

We spent a peaceful morning at the Honolulu Aquarium, a perfect size for little explorers, and then took a more reflective turn with a visit to Pearl Harbor—a meaningful stop that gave all of us a sense of history and honor.

One of the most thrilling parts of our trip was a catamaran tour off the coast. We spotted whales breaching, swam with turtles, and even caught a glimpse of sharks from a safe distance—an awe-inspiring experience that none of us will forget.

Traveling with Grandma made this trip even more special. Watching her experience these moments alongside the boys—laughing during the luau, standing in awe on the boat, or just soaking in the sun on Waikīkī Beach—was the heart of the journey.

Costa Rica

2017

Celebrated the big 4-0 in paradise! Stayed at the Occidental Tamarindo—beautiful location and just a short walk to town. Finally checked “learn to surf” off the bucket list thanks to the incredible instructors at Kelly’s Surf Shop 🏄‍♀️. They had me riding waves in no time! Also went zip lining through the jungle canopy—absolutely unforgettable.

Sun, surf, adventure, and pura vida vibes all around. Couldn't have asked for a better way to kick off this next chapter.

Leaving Paris by train, your journey continues east to Strasbourg, where French and German influences blend beautifully. You wander through half-timbered houses and along picturesque canals, savoring tarte flambée and Alsatian wines. Then, the train carries you south along the sparkling coast to Nice, where the Mediterranean sun invites relaxation. Stroll the Promenade des Anglais, explore the colorful markets, and watch the sunset over the azure sea.

In Montpellier, you discover a vibrant city alive with art, culture, and youthful energy. Narrow medieval streets, hidden squares, and lively terraces offer the perfect setting to celebrate your engagement with a toast of local rosé.

Your trip takes a reflective turn with visits to the Vimy Ridge Memorial and Juno Beach — solemn yet powerful sites honoring Canadian bravery and sacrifice during the World Wars. Standing on these historic grounds, you feel the weight of history and the resilience of those who fought for freedom.
